As co-owner and managing broker of Prudential American Heritage/Barrington, Jen Ortman set out to make her office unique. After recruiting some of the best Realtors in the northwest Chicago suburbs, Jen committed herself to building a business where teamwork is fundamental. “Our success will be built on an environment where people openly share their experiences, help each other solve problems and act as each other’s support system,” she said. “When we combine our knowledge and pool our talents we bring a powerful force to the marketplace.”
Prudential American Heritage/Barrington also is known for their high tech-soft touch approach to business. “I love how technology has allowed us to be more creative, more flexible and more responsive to client needs,” Jen said. “But we shy away from mass marketing. Instead we use technology and social networking to personalize our marketing approach.”
After graduating from the University of Iowa with a degree in political science, Jen spent 12 years in IT and telecommunications sales management. She began her real estate career in Phoenix but returned to family and friends in Barrington, where she grew up. Jen, her husband, Will and three young sons currently live in Arlington Heights. Outside of family Jen and Will’s passion is remodeling homes. “I love taking a diamond in the rough and bringing it back to life,” she said. Today life is hectic and vacations usually point to a beach but Jen sees a day when her family will be able to travel to far off places together. She loves the mystery and romance of Europe but next on her list is a trip to Russia. Knowing Jen, when she sets out to do something, she gets it done. Family, get your passports ready!
